anyway, this was made for some college assignment. i was told that i dont really have a fondness for colors within my paintings so here's my attempt to add some hapiness into my palette . hopefully more of this stuff to come. i know my posting schedule is incredibly inconsistent so bear with me
hope you guys like it
this was for portfolio class. we have to fill our demo reel with work so i bunged this out the other day cuz i didnt really have anything scene/monster heavy
ooh portfolio class. one semester dedicated to making a good portfolio? sweet! do we just submit that as an assignment or can we actually use it professionally?
and senior reference? really? thats pretty cool dont know what for though cuz i havent seen that painting floating around school in a while XD
Commentary based on Description: I don't know. I think what color you do add in some of your darker palette pieces adds emphasis. Besides, You've had your splurge of color before when you tossed in "92.6% more Unicorn Power" (thedurrrrian.deviantart.com/ar…). You just do REALLY WELL with dark palettes (though color is nice touch on occasion such as this piece) Also... adding color Durrrrian, doesn't necessarily mean happiness... especially when a giant creature of destruction is coming after you. I do like the knight's coloring though. That did add happiness. Keep up with the awesome artwork!
Focusing more on the piece: The color did add some interest despite the huge hungry looking beast coming for what could perhaps be the outskirts of town or even docks(?). The knight's coloring isn't over powering with the complimentary darker green tinted armor with the bright scarlet red cloth. The surrounding oranges and light-colored browns, draw the eye to examine the whole picture which feels well balanced color -wise. On the characters themselves, I love how the knight seems so chill about the situation. xD I think this piece is excellent.
fyi... the knight's name is steven, and its his first day on the job. i cant imagine how he's acting so chill about the whole situation XD
The guy with the sword is so chill, it's great ^_^ "bring it"
